MONICA
The most versatile piece I picked up from the Zara sale is this simple skirt. It's a basic with a twist. The front split is suggestive yet modest. For a shopping day with girlfriends, I'd wear it with this neoprene, peter pan collar top by H&M. Because both pieces are neutral in color and a little reminiscent of a school girl uniform, I'd mixed it up with bold colored accessories. The bag is Pauric Sweeney, similar here, and the shoes are Carvela. For a day of running errands, I'd wear the skirt with this easy Zara shirt and these pretty flats that Junette picked from the sale. Not your average t-shirt, sweats, and flip flops, but just as comfortable and more refined.
For a date night, because it always gets chilly, I'd throw on this baggy Anthropologie sweater to keep at least half my body happy. I may or may not hike the skirt up just a little for some extra attention, but to keep it classy overall, these white Chloe sandals are a no brainer. And the ultimate accessory? Miki! She matches the shoes...

A great outfit can always be built from the shoes up. In this case, these cap toe ballerina flats from Zara are my favorite score from the recent Zara sale. The color block/cap toe trend is classic and en pointe (punny!) with my affinity for preppy style. For a chic summer look that's clean without being trashy, I would pair the shoes with this daring dress I saw at Anthropologie (also on sale!). Plus this geometric scarf for when the sun goes down. But if I was going on a fun daytime date, I'd throw these Ted Baker floral shorts with this minty shirt and a scarf in case you end up going to the movies.
Don't forget your accessories! A striped hat to match your sunblock. (Every day!) And a cute headband to match your floral shorts.
Monica's style is edgier than mine, so it was interesting to work with her Zara buys. I like the neon trend, and neon just seemed to fit with these pieces.
For the sexy back t-shirt, wear with these neon jeans from F21 to look like a cute walking watermelon (in the best way possible). But I like it with these pink heels from Chromatic Gallerie and studded bracelet from F21 to glam it up a bit.
I chose a fun neon sandal from H&M to go with the more serious skirt with a front split. The pop of color stays at the feet and the rest of the outfit stays monochromatic with a black blouse from Asos. Top it off with a bun and gold bangles and you're ready for a day or night outing.
