Brave New Home

I am ecstatic about our housewarming this weekend. We finally moved on December 1st after 6 long months of searching for the right place. Since then we have been working hard towards making it a beautiful, functional, and inviting home.

Three people with three very different aesthetics made the process arduous and everyone's tush got hurt on a daily basis. The main topic of debate has been the living room layout.

Our living room has splendid bay windows that let in sunlight during the day and city lights from Sunset Blvd. at night. Our greatest nemesis has been the entry door which swings right into the main space. The lack of a foyer has made it difficult to lay out the living/dining areas because the door and foot traffic inevitably encroaches on the space. Above are some options we considered. I'll share the winning layout after the housewarming!
